MEMBERSHIP
Membership in SHRM of Central New Jersey is easy and
fun. The only requirements are:
- You are a member of the national organization, Society for Human
Resource Management (www.shrm.org)
- Your occupation falls into one of three categories:
- HR Professional defined as someone who spends at least 50% of
their daily activities performing traditional HR duties (or, if
under 50%, you are your organization’s only HR rep); you
have retired from a traditional HR role; you are an HR focused
attorney or academician.
- You are a Consultant who provides services to HR professionals
and their organizations
- You are a Student enrolled in a bona-fide HR Management program
at an accredited school, carrying a minimum of six credits, and
you are not otherwise employed in an HR function
.
Benefits of Membership include but certainly not limited
to:
- Utilizing your 300+ fellow chapter members as professional resources
for council, advice, suggestions and networking. (Use of the membership
list for solicitation will result in your membership being revoked)
- Discounted monthly meetings most are pre-certified for PHR/SPHR
recertification credits.
- Cross recognition at other GSC Chapters and organizations such
as New Jersey Professional Coaches Association (here us the current

- Follow a Passion: Volunteer as little as an hour a month on
a committee that fuels one of your professional or personal passions.
Workforce Readiness; Diversity; Chapter Marketing or Membership;
Legislative Affairs; Certification, College Relations, International
Affairs, Community Events or take a leadership role by running
for chapter office!
Chapter Information:
- Rutgers University Chapter Meetings are held
in Room 106 of the Levin Building. For upcoming meetings and
events, [link to meeting schedule].
- Students are encouraged to attend the Central
Jersey Chapter's meetings held at the Holiday Inn in Somerset.
Dinner meetings include salad, entrée, and dessert. These meetings
provide an excellent opportunity to network with HR Professionals
of all levels. Please refer to the program schedule for additional
information.
